I would like to add something on the VCR longevity: a format like VHS that will last 20 years is not likely to exist again. Those were other times, in the current state of digital technology development the lifespan of a format is more close to 5/8 years, maybe DVD will last a bit longer, thanks to the fact that the discs are recorded in a "progressive scan" format, but if you are expecting another VHS, well, this will not happen with DVD nor will happen with any other format for the next 100 years, and this way you will never upgrade. Fact is:a format that will last 20 years, like the VHS did, will never exist again. I would buy that DVD...David
