Is component video a VGA signal

Yeah, I know you profesionals juggle those terms with ease, but for me newbe a component video input is what they put now in DVD players and some TVs, it is three RCA sockets with different color plastic insulator in it,
(green,blue and red) and I think marked Y, Cr, and Cb. Now, is this input also compatible with computer VGA?
