Advice: Toshiba 65: Widescreen TV

Using Mozilla/4.5 [en]C-CCK-MCD {Amgen v1.0} (Win98; U):
I am able to purchase a Toshiba TW65G80 65" widescreen TV that claims to be HDTV ready, and includes an internal line doubler, etc. The set is a floor demo that has been on display for approximatelt 1 year and 10 months. The physical cond is pretty good - no scratches, etc, although it is a bit dusty. The original price for the unit (deaer cost, I am told) was $5995. The dealer is offering it to me at $3500. I am offering $3000. My questions: What is a reasonable price for this unit with this background info (i.e., not new, perhaps being replaced by Toshiba)?. How last can I expct the unit's tube to continue working appropriately? Any experiences with this set (positive or otherwise)?
