LCD Projectors coping with 16x9 dvd output

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows NT):

I am about to purchase a Sony VPL-S500 projector but I have not been able to find out if it will handle 16x9 from my
Sony dpv725d dvd player.The spec's just say that it operates to ntsc/pal with 600 tv lines.
