Toshiba TN55X81 vs anything else

Using Mozilla/4.51 [en] (Win95; I):

I am looking at the toshiba tn55x81 tv compared to the sony kp53v80 and the mitsubishi gold series line (55705). Can anyone tell me which one they would choose? The toshiba is most appealing because of the HDTV feature and the line doubler and the price of this unit compared to mitsubishi's platinum line. What makes the toshiba so much less expensive and is this a good quality product? Any help I can get on this subject would be greatly appreciated. I have been wrestling with this decision for a long time now. Thank you.
