help!dvd taping problems

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 98; DigExt):

Hi ,i purchased a proscan vcr and a proscan dvd player,,when i try to tape a dvd i get a strange discoloration and a dimming and brightening effect,,,any way around this????,,thanks ken mills
