stripe on screen of Sony Wega

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows 95):

Just wondering if anybody has experienced a similar problem. I have a 36 inch Sony Wega, purchased last Christmas. What I notice is a vertical stripe about 2 inches wide on the left side of the set, about 2 inches from the edge of the screen. It is especially pronounced on certain stations like ABC, but still there, even thou hardly visible on other stations. You can see it well against dark backgrounds. I also noticed it while playing DVDs.
No idea what it is. Has anybody seen something similar. Should I call the service before warranty runs out?
