I think the new Sony 53XBR300 for around $4000 street is you absolute best choice. It supports DVD anamorphic (vertical compression) and the 480p and 1080i modes in addition to NTSC 480i. You may have to wait a little while before the dealers start to get them in, but I think the short wait will be well worth it. I have the 53XBR200 and the included DRC circuit does wonders for analog NTSC signals. In my opinion, you won't be able to better.
