Ken, The 851 is ntsc only and has a maximum scan rate of 15.7 khz making connection of a doubler impossible. The edge card connector is not for rgb but for an external s-video adapter that was discontinued some time ago. I owned one for several years and it is a stellar performer for standard ntsc sources. All focus and convergence controls are manual analog and time consuming to properly calibrate but the unit is very stable once setup. I now have a Pro-900X which supports hdtv and looks incredible with a scaler running at 47.1k instead of a doubler (at 31.4k). Newer scalers like the CSI Deuce or Focus Enhancements Quadscan provide performance approaching devices costing $8k or more and are a vast improvement over line doubling. See the link for additional descriptive info.
