SAMSUNG SLJ-402W 40" widescreen question

Using Mozilla/4.6 (Macintosh; I; PPC):

hello.

just picked up this unit. the resolution is really nice, but the set does not seem to hold black well and the color feels a bit washed out. any recommends on how to correct this problem?
