I did compare the Pioneer Elites (the weird 16:10.7 NTSC and HDTV models) with the Sony XBR200s. I happened to prefer the picture of the Sonys over Pioneers. With the improvements made to the XBR300s (ok, I haven't actually seen them yet) at about the same price, I think the choice is easy.
