Toshiba TW40X81 or Mitsubishi 46" HDTV?

I took a look at both the sets since I'm also looking for similar price/size range, and here is what I experienced :
TW40X81 is cute-sized for small rooms, but I tried the color/brightness controls from the remote and could not feel much of a difference. There was a sony 40" next to it and the same channels looked brigher and more colorful. May be it's my ability to judge or the way the channel was set !

I liked the 46805 (for another 500 bucks).. it looked really bright and more colorful.
I'm still considering few more parameters before I make the final decision.

Anybody knows what a dynamic black elvel expansion means ? WT46805 has this as defeatable whereas Mitubishi's diamond series don't have this feature.

Any expert opinion ?
