Can I lay a projection TV flat for transport ?

Using Mozilla/4.51 [en] (Win95; I):
I am purchasing a used Toshiba tw40h80
television from a private party. My
vehicle situation only allows me to
lay the television flat on it's back for
transport home. Is this ok or will I
suffer the consequences of my impatience
waiting for a bigger truck ? Thanks
for your help. $1000 for the tv (6 months old w/receipts) by the way, sorry guys.
