Sony DVD players

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows 95):

I am looking to buy a Sony DVD player for under $600. I do not have any other electronic components other than a TV and VCR. Which model would you all recommend? SHould I wait or is now a good time to buy a DVD player?
