I have been having the same thoughts. My question is that your PC hardware is already out of date. I have heard that video games (console?) will damage rptv's. As far as Creative, I don't believe that those speakers can hold a candle to true home audio speakers.
Personally, I have decided to wait for hdtv to get closer and to put less emphasis on the PC part. I wanted the PC to control my system, lights and room effects, games were a secondary consideration. I am going to try and build a great theater and add the PC if possible. I can still play my games on my regular PC setup, just not the big screen.
