Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows NT):
I got this wide screen Toshiba TW40H80 a couple of days back and have the following questions... 1. I have the Sony DVP7000 DVD player and have set it to output wide screen picture(Aspect Ratio 16:9 in the setup menu). a) When playing a wide screen movie (like Rush hour/Tomorrow Never Dies) what TheaterWide setting do I use.... There are three settings... 128% horizontal stretching and some different levels of vertical stretching.. (like 128%, 107%, etc) b) When playing 4:3 letterbox format, is it possible to stretch the picture using the Theater or full mode, to remove the side white bars on the TV and the top/bottom black bars in the picture without distorting or loosing picture information. If yes, what mode do I use.2. I am finding it difficult to use the Video Essentials DVD to set the controls as the Menu Icons hides most of the test patterns and also changes the picture brightness levels which make it difficult to set the brightness level(black below video black test). 3. The white side bars in the 4:3 mode is bend. Is this what is called the "geometry problem". If not what is this geometry problem. 4. Any suggestions for calibrating this set... any information or pointer to specialist in the California Bay Area.
