pioneer dvl-09, 909, 919, too new 4 review?

Using Mozilla/2.0 (compatible; MSIE 3.0; AOL 4.0; Windows 3.1):

If memory serves, the 09 was found wanting as a dvd player and the 909 was found wanting as a ld player. That should indicate that the 919 is either a fine machine and Pioneer finally got it right or it's another failure and just can't hit the high notes for either format. Any experience or anecdotes, perhaps? I have a cld-d703 and have a/b
'd it with a forgotten Elite player. My
old 703 was the better. Would hope the 919 should have as clear and crisp a picture. Help.
