Toshiba DVD player audio dropouts

I'm having the exact same problem with my 3109! On about half of the DVDs I've watched so far, there's been a single 2-3 second audio dropout approximately halfway through the movie. It's very irritating, and I'd really like to know what's causing it. (BTW, it is not a layer-switching problem--the DVDs I've watched are not dual-layer discs.)
