You can upgrade the DVL-909 to do the same tricks as the DVL-91 (DTS from DVD and Digital Noise Reduction) by simply changeing a resistor that tells the software in the machine how to behave.

I've gotten this information from the supplier that i bought my '909 from, I don't know where he got it, but it's widely spread on "the net", follow the link below for a good page describeing the "hack".
BTW, I haven't tried it myself. And, most important, I stress that YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE for your own safety and your players wellfare if you try it! It's definatley "on your own risk" and voids the warranty BIGTIME...

When you're in there you could probably put som vibrationabsorbing material in the case to (carefully! Dont cover any ventilation-holes, short out the electronics or obstruct the transport) and perhaps glue some stiffening in to stabilize the caseing...
