Panasonic A110 firmware

Using Mozilla/4.06 [en] (Win95; U ;Nav):

Does anyone know what is required to change the firmware in the A110? Is it just a pluggable chip, a soldered in chip, or is there a connection inside that the techs can just download a new revision?
