PIP and Cable TV

You should bypass the cable box (if possible). This is the way I setup my XBR36":
Primary coxial-Premium Channels (A)
Auxiallary coaxial-Basic Channels (B)
Video1-DVD (Component)
Video2-Playstation (S-Video)

In this fashion you can watch split screen, PIP, the multi-view, etc., but you'll to setup the appropriate picture sources. Be forewarned that the PIP screen on the XBR is only limited to the Primary coaxial and not auxiallry. All other video inputs can be shown.

ANother way to do this is have a VCR going in as an auxially input, and you can have the output of that as the PIP window, but it'll take a whole mess of singal splitters and stuff to make it work right.

YOu can also set the channel to fixed at 3 or so for your cable box, but again, you'l lose the PIP and multi-window capability. This is one of the reasons why I haven't bought a DSS unit yet.
