A/V Receiver?

Posted by julie drysdale [IP: 165.227.137.212] on June 23, 1999 at 22:27:05
Using Mozilla/4.61 [en] (Win95; I):

Okay, now I have a great TV, a DVD and VCR, and I need something to manage all of them. Right now we have the DVD and VCR video inputs connected to the TV, and the audio outputs to our adequate but outdated receiver/amp. We don't have surround sound yet, but before we tackle that, I'd just like to have something central that would keep us from having to get up and press buttons on the receiver every time we switch from TV to VCR or DVD.

Can someone recommend a good A/V Receiver, or another solution, that will work with all of this equipment? Price range could be anywhere from $500-$1000 or even a little more, if necessary.

What should I look for? Right now my DVD connects to my TV (32XBR20) with component video, and I don't want to lose that. I want to preserve the best video and audio sound possible.

Any recommendations?
