: : : : I spent substantial time demoing a variety of solid state amps to mate with my SL/3's including Krell, Levinson, Acurus, Classe' and McCormick and found that for my listening tastes and equipment that Classe' offered the best sound with M-L speakers for the dollars spent. The sound is a bit laid back in the upper midrange but the soundstage is deep and imaging is very detailed. I purchased a CA-200 (list $2995) but a CA-100 (list $1595) might be adequate for your Aerius', depending on your listening tastes (if home theater is involved you might lean towards the CA-200). I strongly recommend that you demo whatever you decide first in you home with your system if at all possible so as to avoid any disappointment. Good luck shopping!: Thanks for the suggestion Bob, : I was also looking at the Classe CA-100, McCormic .5, Sunfire Stereo or a Aragon 4004 mkII. : I was a little worried about the Classe 100 not being able to handle the low 1.7ohm load : of the logans. Maybe the CA-200 might be the better choice..... I still have to listen to : the Sunfire or the used Aragon that I'm also looking at. How do you find the bass control : between the Classe and the McCormic? : I'm in the process right now of selling some of the equipment that I've been using for home : theatre and downsizing it to allow for a bigger budget for better audiophile stereo equipment. Eric, I use a CA-100 (bridged) to power my ML Logos center and having run my SL/3's with it do not think the low impedence of your Aerius' will be a problem. I too auditioned the Acurus and thought highly of it. I don't recall a difference in bass control between the Classe' and McCormick (at least with my speakers). If you are considering used, The Stereo Trading Outlet has both a 4004/II and CA-100's at resonable prices. I purchased my CA-200 from them without any problems.
