Bob,

I have my Orion Blue Book open and I can't locate a M-5000 power amp. There are several models with similar numbers... 5100, 5090, 5030 etc with a variety of ages and power. Can you double-check the model number?

Heck for $50... if it works, buy it and double check the model number in your own home!

: Any clue as to the age and specs on an Onkyo M-5000 power amp. Its black with rack type handles on the front. In back, just a L&R RCA in and 2 channels out with A & B terminals. It doesn't weight half as much as the case size make it appear. A pawn shop has it for $50.

: I would really appreciate any and all comments and opinions on this unit. Should I consider finding a pre-amp for it or just use it for a bargain sub amp off an A/V receiver's sub-out jack? For $50, its cheaper than the Madisound & Parts Express sub amps! Apex, too!
