: I have a button on my amp that says "Subsonic", but I never figured what it does. I switched it on and off while listening, but I don't seem to know what the difference is. : Someone told me that it has something to do with the bass, does anyone know if this is the case? Or does anyone know what "subsonic" is anyway? The correct spelling/term should be "infrasonic", it refers to frequencies that are too low to be heard. The button on your equipment is most likely a low frequency cut out filter(high pass). Low frequency filtering was necessary back in the days of vinyl record play, because record warp could rob you of useable power or distort/damage your loudspeakers. Alan Ersen
