I went thru the same thing and ended up with the 240. I looked at the ES models and they are real nice but a tad pricey, so I decided to look at what I was going to use the changer for and that was to store, play, shuffle and record from, to my Minidisc or Dat. The non ES models are not built as heavy and will not play a disc really cranked up without skipping (from the bass) I can use my S7000 for CD's, It will not skip at all, so if I want to crank it that is the player I will use. So with that in mind I decided to go with the non ES , The 220, 240 or 260 The 220 ($229 @ cameraworld.com) was out because of no disc management or keyboard input. The 240 @ $299 comes with a free keyboard (for title input) Disc management to control another 200 disc unit and good group file - custom file options. The door on the newer units also is better than the last series as it doesn't flip down instead it retracts inside the unit. The 260 is built on the same chasis as the ES units but with out the better pulse DA converters (and other differences) and is quite good but the price was another couple bills more and for what I needed the 240 was the one. I have had it for about 3 months now and it is very nice, I want to add the 220 so when you do shuffle there is no break in the music. (you can either have the music start at the end of the song or it will do a mix automatically...cool) So I would go with the pair (a 220 and a 240) so you will have great shuffle modes and management to all the disc. ( you don't have to fill each one as it does not search emty spaces)Thats $528 at cameraworld with free shipping to boot. I hope this was of help Merry Christmas R
