You are in luck, the quality of playback has nothing to do with the capacity of the player. You may pay a bit more for the larger capacity players, but that's about it. While I prefer the Yamaha brand, I had a Pioneer 25 disc unit which not only had a optical digital output, it had shockingly good sound for a low cost player. My only reason for selling it had to do with it's height, which would not fit in either system cabinet - sad as I would buy a file-type changer any day over a carousel unit.

: I need help with home CD changer selection here. I know I want one with a digital out, and it should hold at least 50 CDs. What I don't know is, will a unit that holds 50 or 100 sound a lot worse than one that only holds 5 (within the same brand, of course)? And I only want to spend around $200, so should I get a Pioneer w/50 or 100 capacity, or say, a Yamaha that only holds 5? Thank you.
