Hello Frank,

Glad to finally hear from someone with expience on the PD-F19. In the time that has elapsed however, I decided to go the DVD route rather than a new CD player.

I will get a big changer one of these days though, and it will likely be the PD-F19! As you mentioned, the Legato link looks like it could make a big difference.

What has blown me away in the past two weeks is the performance of the audio section of the DVD player I bought (Pioneer DV-414). Playing CD's, it's superior to ven my CLD-1090 Laserdisc player, which I always held in high regard.

The S/N ratio of the DV-414 is 115db, compared to 102db of my existing TM-2 disc changer.

: About two weeks ago I bought a PDF-19 for $549 from my local elite dealer. The build quality is outstanding; the mechanism is silent and quick. Most of my discs are cd-r copies and most players will occasionally hang up at the end. Not once has the Elite done that. But best of all is the sound quality. I used to be convinced that all players sound the same; not anymore. The "Legato Link" together with the 20bit conversion makes a very real and impessive difference. I had previously bought and returned a JVC and Kenwood changer; the JVC would hang up on almost every disc and the Kenwood just started churning its rack. I decided to go for quality and am not sorry.
