Inverted outputs on Yamaha C80 preamp. Posted by Alan L. You would connect your loudspeakers to the positive terminals of each channel of each power amp. Your power rating would now become the sum of what you amplifier is rated for into a 4 ohm load - so a 250w/ch amp that is rated at 350w/ch would become a 700 watt mono amp. Beware that a bridged amplifier does not drive a 4 ohm load well at all. Otherwise it works well. Best regards, Alan : There are a pair of pre-out jacks labled "Inverted" next to the standard "Non-inverted" pre-out jacks. : According to the owners manual I can connect one channel of a two-channel amplifier to the "left inverted" jack and the other amplifier channel to the "left non-inverted" jack then connect a speaker to both positive terminals on the amplifier for increased output from the amp. The connection diagram shows two amplifiers connected in this manner, one for each channel. : I understand that bridging an amplifier should theoretically quadruple the non-bridged output, but I don't think this configuration is a bridged setup. : Question - What would be the theroetical output of a 250 wpc amp connected in this configuration and how do you arrive at that conclusion?
