information on bridging amplifiers

Bridging a stereo amplifier will yield twice the 4 ohm power rating into the single 8 ohm speaker you would drive it with. In the "real world" of audio, bridging is great if you have a pair of, say 40w/ch tube amps - like the sound, but keep pressing them to the edge of clipping. With your 250w/ch amp, you need to ask yourself if you really need 700ish watts?!! Also keep in mind that bridged amps don't like 4 ohm loads.

: I would like information on bridging a two channel amplifier. What is the benefit of bridging a two channel, 250 watts per channel amp.? What is the out come of bridging?
