Alan,
I see many amps advertised as "bridgeable", implying others aren't. Does this only have to do with how stable they are into low impedance loads, or is there more to it than that?
Tim

: Jimmie,

: Bridging a stereo amplifier will yield twice the 4 ohm power rating into the single 8 ohm speaker you would drive it with. In the "real world" of audio, bridging is great if you have a pair of, say 40w/ch tube amps - like the sound, but keep pressing them to the edge of clipping. With your 250w/ch amp, you need to ask yourself if you really need 700ish watts?!! Also keep in mind that bridged amps don't like 4 ohm loads.

: : I would like information on bridging a two channel amplifier. What is the benefit of bridging a two channel, 250 watts per channel amp.? What is the out come of bridging?
