Parasound 1100 DAC??

Using Mozilla/4.04 [en]C-NECCK (Win95; I):

Wonder if anyone can tell me what is the
polarity invert button for?
Also what is the De-emphasis LED for?

Bought the DAC 2nd-hand,so no manual and also my first venture into DAC's.

Also i noticed that when i turn on my living room lights or other appliances there is some sort of disturbance while the DAC is playing??The music sort of goes off then on again in a split Second??My DAC is plugged directly into the wall socket,do i need some sort of Filter??Appreciate the help.Thanks.
