XLR to RCA

Using Mozilla/4.61 [en] (Win98; U):

I have a power amp which has XLR/TRS Balance inputs and I am using it with my home stereo preamp which has unbalanced RCA outputs.Do I need some kind of impedance transformer or ground lift to properly match these two units or will a simple adapter work.
