: Well, I don't really think cassette became obsolete already. : And I even don't want to get into the discussion about the quality of audio coming out of MD. : The thing is - I have two cars in the family, and only one of them has a CD player. : So I DO need to make cassette copies. : Thank you. : P.S. I live in New Jersey, not in Moscow.1) Do you really need a deck worth $400-500 to make copies for your car? 2) MD quality: just try it, not portable. It's not a matter of discussion, you are right, as long as comparison is made to a cassette. 3) In NJ you can also get a blank MD for about $2-2.5 and MD is superb for car use, it's shock-proof. 4) If it wasn't for MD, I would buy the Yamaha 580SE for car copies, though for more serious use I would stick to a 3-head design. Unfortunately, manufacturers do not think this format still lives, therefore the choice in the market is limited. Try Technics AZ7 if it is still available. Take care
