Alan - Searching old system

One luxury of mass-market products which share so many components is that when one part goes, you can usually find a generic replacement. While Hitachi might not be able to supply a motor, there are a lot of generic motors on the parts supply market, and one should fit.

Is this a true component system or a all-in-one matched system? If it is a true component system, you could always replace just the cassette deck and keep the rest. If they all connect together using a ribbon cable, or a power cord with something other than a standard AC plug is used... you might be in a bit of a jam.

: the problem is the tape drive motor died a few days back and no one is ready to fix it..so i am seraching for anyone who has this system and would like to sell it..i wud be ready to buy it and revive my old friend..i dont know if this is the right forum for me but i dont have a clue about where else to search the hitachi owner...wud be greatful if u cud help me out and suggest other ways...
